The Turnbull Family have been in the furniture industry since the 1930’s both in manufacturing and retailing, taking pride in good designs, high quality workmanship, and styles that are exciting and innovative. Denis Turnbull Snr. Initially started on his own as an upholsterer; such was his success that his small business developed into a company employing forty two staff, supplying lounge suites to eighty one outlets in the North Island. Deny his son; also an upholsterer became an integral part of the business. In 1985 he started his own manufacturing company Komfit Furniture Ltd, later selling direct to the public retailing as Turnbull Furniture Ltd.
